The lucky number 3
The number 3 is considered as a lucky number in Japan. It origins in the Onmyodo(Way of yin and yang)that continues from the Heiann era, which teaches that the number 3 is a lucky odd number. Many other things are also grouped in threes. We can see that 3 is important in Shinto from examples such as the holy trinity, the three sacred treasures, three claps and one bow(style of prayer at Shinto templates),three sippings from three cups(a ritual in Shinto style weddings),etc...The theme for this series is the lucky number 3.
